By Keri

My name is Keri and I’m 19 years old. I have been riding horses for eight years and working with them for six, starting with Errik. My main passion is learning and understanding the behaviors of our equine companions. For me, working with a horse is about traveling a journey. An unknown, unmarked path that is as exciting as it is unnerving.

My horses are truly my passion.  I strive to create a better environment for them, emotionally and physically.  It’s not such much the fun I get out of riding them, yet it’s the happiness I feel in seeing them happy.  Watching Ink grow into his own and become the horse he was always ment to be, is what I have lived for.

In the past, since I began riding, I rode at an eventing barn.  I really miss it.  I hope to get into eventing again one day.  I stay on the observant side of the competitive show circuit. Even though I would love to be able to be a competitor. Reason being, I need to be self-sufficient as far as finances go and I’m not knowledgeable enough to train a horse for competition.

Right now I am continuously working with my 23 year old bay Arabian mare named Errika and stepping into working with my new project! My 7 year old bay OTTB gelding named Ink Spot aka Ink.

You can read about Ink and Errika through the “Equines” link.

Besides horses, well there isn’t a “besides.”  But I do enjoy photography, web-design, reading, writing and expanding my knowledge and horizons, as they say.

    Hey Keri,

Nice website! I found it through BAEN. I have a blog as well, not always horse related, but there are several ride stories on there from the endurance and competitive trail competitions I’ve been in with my horse Isabella.

I can’t believe you’re only 17! You sound way more mature.. You know, I saw Ink Spot when I visited Joe’s place. I was there with a friend scoping out a horse and brought him some EqSenior. Ink is just gorgeous.

Julienne thank you so much for your nice comments! I love hearing about anyone who has seen Ink, in person or on the TBF website. Ink is a gorgeous boy isn’t he!? And what a mover!

Did you and your friend find a horse(s) you liked? So many of them, all so pretty. I’m sure my next project horse will come from Joe’s.

    I’ll be 18 in December, I’m getting old. ;)
When it comes to horses, I am passionate and therefore I guess things just come out in a more mature manner..at least I hope so.

Thank you for your time to look around the website and support is greatly appreciated as well!

Your website is great! Isabella is beautiful, pretty cross. Endurance looks like loads of fun.

If you don’t mind I am going to link to your website :)

    Thank You again!

    Hi Keri,
This may seem like a strange question, but what level of rider did you consider yourself when you first decided to get Ink?

Every day a great horse is born and everyday a great horse is forgotten. With every hour, day and month spent in the presence of a great horse, we barrow the depths to our hearts and the keys to secret abiss. We are granted the oppurtunity to learn, view and share a gift with a special animal that lives in a special world, far from the travels of the beaten path, that is often over-looked.
Ink is a 2000 ex-racer gelding who this blog was started for and inspired by. It is written by his owner Keri and highlights his life through their work and their relationship with one very special Arabian mare.
Take a step with us.
